As with all cultured pearls they are precious jewels and need to be treated as such.

Occasionally they need to be cleaned gently with a soft cloth dipped in mild soapy water. Then rinse the cloth in fresh water and wipe pearls clean. Dry with a soft cloth.

Some people complain that pearls change colour. Generally speaking this is because they have been worn when in the bath or working in the kitchen. Most cleaning agents today contain bleach, so it is not surprising that pearls can lose their colour under these circumstances.

Wait until after applying makeup, perfume and hair products to put on your pearl jewellery. Some chemicals may harm them.

Don’t allow pearls to rub against harder gems. Ideally they are best kept in a chamois bag or wrapped separately so your other jewellery doesn’t harm them.

Before putting away, wipe pearl jewellery softly with a clean cloth.

Strands will require restringing from time to time, depending on how often they are worn. We recommend you see your jeweller for their expert advice.
